: This S4 versus M3 debate is never going to end.

: But I think that even though HP might be the same, you gotta consider this:

: Suspenion = M3
: Weight Distribution = M3
: Lower Curb Weight = M3
: Warranty for 340hp = M3

:
: Then of course there's the Quattro AWD versus BMW RWD, etc. I'm not getting into it :)

: I own an A4 now, and I'm not sure whether my next car will be an S4 or an M3, so even I can't tell you which way to go.

Aw, shuckins, I'd still rather have my 354 HP/ 310 ft lb Supercharged '99 E36 M3 than all of 'em. I much prefer the appearance of the E36, plus the lighter weight, and crisper handling...Remember, in all tests so far, the E46 has fallen behind their E36 counterparts in driver feel and handling, and general 'edginess'. So, if you can retain all that, plus get more power than the E46 as well, well, that would be the best of all worlds....And, as far as price comparisons go, I analyzed it before I made the decision, and the Supercharger on E36 comes out ahead. For those of you who decide that $55K is too much to spend, the option I chose is a whole lot better than 'second best'..
