: What exactly does a spot on the waiting list get you, besides the obvious, "a new car" . This question is not as dumb as it sounds. Does it mean you will be able to "customize" your car just like you want it, color, options, etc. right from the get go? There's no chance you will have to wait for a certain color to be made or anything like that? I need details please before i go out and get (start) on one, since my dealer doesn't even have a wait list yet!
when it's your turn you will be invited in to the dealer to specify color and options and finalize the sale. There was a rumor that colors might be made in bulk, eg. production week 1, just black, but I don't know how much truth there is to that.
The lists are getting long in some places, and a place on a waiting list is related to dealer allotment, ie, number 10 at a high volume dealer is better than #10 at a low volume dealer. HIGH volume dealers are slated to get only 4 to 6 m3's for Nov and Dec 2000. If your dealer does not have a wait list it appears you are going to be a #1 !!
Tell them to get with it and start a list. Keep us informed.
