major changes BMW will be forced to make to the M3 for the '02 model.
They can't afford now "not" to come out with the new M3 this fall. But I don't think they are really satisfied with the engine. I believe they'll be forced to come out with the '01 M3 on schedule and then make some rather major changes and tweaks in '02 model.
I think we'll see a somewhat major engine change in '02 and BMW will "cut-in" needed changes to correct faults in the '01 model. They will also have some needed time to combat their competition.
: I think the magazine has been fairly reliable over the years. Interstingly, in the same issue Auto Motor Sport says that Mercedes will introduce a c-class AMG car with a 3.2l engine outputting 400 hp. I guess if that is true we will see that car in a couple of years. If that happens I furthermore think we will se a V8 in the M3. Since BMW will not use a supercharger they will have to put a V8 in their M3 to keep the competition behind.
