: : TWO WORDS: Snow Tires. You can drive ANY car in the Winter with the right tires. I drive a 97 M3 with 16" wheels with Hakke snows and I regularly pass ugly dog Sport Utes in the mountain passes here in Colorado.
: Do you like those Hakkes? I also live in Colorado, and just swapped out my snow tires for my running shoes, because I was so sick of hearing the road noise on Goodyear Snows. They suck! It is looking like it is going to be a mild winter/spring this year, so I had to pull off the snow tires early.
Yea I like them, I have the Hakkapiilltia Q's which are their newest design. Very quiet, but a little "spirmy" feeling. You definately don't feel the urge to race around on these things. Excellent gripe in the snow though. I agree with the season being mild, really nothing so far and I don't drive in the mountains that much, but when I have, I have total confidence. It appears these will wear much better than than the Blizzaks I've owned previously. I bought these at Tillery Imports on Broadway; ask for Doug. PS-I'm sure having 16" narrower wheels vs. the stock 17X7.5's have helped as well.
