Well they're not gonna hold "official" auctions or anything. All they're going to do is set a high markup, say $20K, and go down the waitlist to see who's willing to go that high. If they get 10 people willing to buy at that price, then they'll drop the markup to $15K and see how many they can sell for that. So if you want MSRP, you'll have to wait until ALL THOSE people get their cars. That's fine with me. I don't need to drive the first M3s out.

: Both Claridges and Weatherford are also accepting deposits, and I already have one a Weatherford. The guy at Claridge said that the base is 45-50 but he will be selling the first couple at a 10K markup. At least he told it to me straight. But he was still willing to take a deposit on the early ones too, so I am not sure if only Allison and Stevens Creek have decided that they are going to capitalize on the craze for the car by holding auctions.
