Do you really think BMW will 'force-release' an M3 with an engine they are so discontent with that they will replace it the very next model year? Imagine the flame from all first-model buyers when only one year later a newer/faster model comes (for the same price)... Myself I have placed a pre-order for a May '01 delivery (in Sweden), but guess if I'll cancel that if I learn there is something better just around the corner. I wouldn't hold out for the V8, but a bigger inline six would be worth the extra wait.
