I'm not sure where you are but there are plenty of dealers that arfe discounting the 996 C2 Coupe by a substantial amount. You can actually get a base model in the low $60K's...perhaps only $10K more than an M3.

The 996 C2 6 speed is regularly tested at 4.6 - 4.8 seconds to 60MPH....the M3 is still untested but I don't see it FASTER than the 996.

The 996 with the aerokit is beautiful - better looking than the M3. The M3 is far more practical though.

Or, you can do what I did...buy a 993 Cabriolet for fun and a Audi A4 1.8TQM and chip it to use as a daily driver.
