I'm something like #22 on the seattle bmw list and just picked up a 323ci from them a couple weeks ago. I haven't dealt with northwest bmw, but how quickly you get the car is going to depend on the dealer's allocation and how many people end up dropping off the list. In terms of allocation I believe bellevue gets the most, seattle is second, followed by northwest. In terms of people dropping off the list, you won't know until the actual pricing is released. Bellevue bmw is closer and more convenient than seattle, but I went with seattle because I liked the salesperson there better and had a smooth painless experience. They also will sell the m3 at msrp while bellevue will most likely mark it up like they did with the m5. I'm suprised by all the negative comments about seattle bmw. There are tons of bmws at work and the general concensus has been in favor of seattle over bellevue.
: So, I did a little calling around today, trying to find out about the status of the wait lists at the Seattle area dealerships. Seattle BMW said their list was in the 40's, but the sales guy assured me that that would mean delivery around march or so. Northwest BMW said their list was only 18 long, but it would be a year FROM PRODUCTION START before they would get to me, i.e. Nov of 2001. Camp BMW in Spokane said their list was only 9 long, but the guy I talked to was clueless, and wanted to know what color I wanted, and what options. An interesting question, as we all know none of that info is available yet. Anyway, here is my question: does anybody know what is likely in terms of length of wait for the above numbers at each of these dealers? I'd be surprised if Seattle BMW could get me a car by March if I am number 44, but I would also be surprised if it took all the way until november '01 if I was only number 18 at Northwest. And I have no idea what to expect from the guys in Spokane. Any thoughts?
