You don't know any more about this then I do and I'm trying to give this guy a glimmer of optimistic hope...
Since the new engine isn't hand built I'm guessing the factory will be able to make at least the 20 per day that they make for the M5/Z8 combo. The US will probably get more then half of the M3 production (guessing at least 60%). So lets say 1/2, 5 days a week 10 engines a day, skip august since germans take off that whole month and you get 2400 engines/year for the US. The original US spec '95 M3 only sold a little over 3000 in a 19 or 20 month run (4/94-12/95)...demand had subsided by October of '95 for rebates where being offered on them. Since this car is WAY more $$$ I figure that I'm right in saying sometime in calendar 2002 (14-16 months after a November 2000 intro). Call me if you wanna argue about it.
