It's definitely not BS. I've got an APR-modified S4 with Alcon brakes on it sitting in the garage next to my e36 m3 (soon to be e46 :)). That beast pulls like mad and when you brake (thanks to the Alcons), those four anchors help you get a little closer to God. A very scary car :)

For what a lot of people are guesstimating the price of a E46 M3 to be, enthusiasts can buy an S4, have APR tweak it up to ungodly levels (320hp/380torque), slap on some Alcon four-piston brakes and do some Vortrag suspension work.

That still won't deter me from buying an E46 M3 though. However, I can see the S4 eating a chunk out of M3 sales (pretty damn nice car for 40k).


: : If you guys want fat torque down low, check out the S4 (258 at 1850 RPM)...a $500 chip gets you 350+ torque below 2000 RPM.
