: : Dear Andreas!
: : Thanks for your followup. I know what you exactly mean, but seems to me realy suspicious why BMW released specs and then after almost two months in the training session for their salesmen handle them document with "expected displacement of 3.4". I personaly folow the development of new M3 since first news they will produce it. I was last september at IAA Frankfurt and that time the BMW person standing beside the car told me they basicly "don't know". And everybody knows they were testing since 98 on Nurburgring mules with even V8 from M5. Seems to me like BMW had to make that releas at Geneva because of the time pressure, but for real they were still sitting on fence with the incoming new inline 6's. If you need the original document, I"ll send it to you by the e-mail.
: : : man.... were you sleeping ????????????????????
: : : BMW released the specs 2 days before the Geneva motorshow (1 month ago !!). I saw the E46 M3 in Geneva.
: : : It's NOT a 3.4 L engine ! It's an I6 3.25 L engine with 343 hp and 370 nm.
: : : If you don't believe me go to BMW.com. They have a website for the new E46 M3.
: : : It seems that you don't have the latest news...
: : : Cheers from Zurich

: info and their not deleting it was a clerical error. I suppose they reserve the right to up or lower the engine displacement despite prior announcements, but it seems too soon to me after Geneva for such a blockbuster announcement. However, nothing would surprise me anymore. Once they load it on the boat we should be sure of what we are getting.
