Have to sympathize with you DC. I really don't like waiting either on the new M3....but it's a lot easier to wait while driving my '99. If the new M3 comes in at around the consensus price point and is as good as it looks, I will be happy I was on the wait list. If not, then my 99 with some more mods will suit me just fine for quite a while. But the speculation and lack of more hard information out of BMW NA is driving me crazy as well.

: I withdrew my deposit (#6 on the list) for the E46 about 6 weeks ago in favor of a 1998 M3/2, believe me, it wasn't an easy choice at the time, but I am very happy with my decision. The bottom line is that I ran out of patience and all the speculation on this board was driving me nuts...I wanted the car NOW. So, I began looking at used M3's and came across a very sweet deal and went with it. The immediate gratification that I've gotten from the E36 has definitely subdued the wants for the E46. Yah, I may have some regrets when the E46 finally comes out, but I know that I will have opportunities to get one after all the initial craziness settles down. The way I look at it is that I'm on the road NOW with a great ride and am loving every minute of the M experience as opposed to driving myself and everyone around me crazy for the next 7 - 9 months waiting for the E46 M3.
