While it's true that the M3 will likely be quicker than the M5 from 0-60 (by 0.1 or so), it will not be faster overall. You can definitely conclude that the 0-60 (and 0-100kph) times of the M3 will be slightly better than the M5 based on BMW's numbers, as well as common sense, but this doesnt mean the car will be "faster". Based on these numbers, we may see magazines posting o-60 times of 4.7-4.8 for the M3. However, by virtue of its enormous torque advantage, the M5 will pull away at speed. The 1/4 mile times will probably favor the M5 by 0.1 or so, but 0-100, 0-130, 0-150, 30-50, 50-70, and 70-90 times will be all M5.
