My best friend drives an e36 m3, i drive an M Coupe, and my father drives a Viper. The viper is an unbelievable car that rivals the importance for Muslims visiting mecca once in their lifetime. If you have the financial means to purchase a Viper, I highly suggest it over the M3. What I love about the Viper is not necessarily when you blow from 60-100 mph in what seems like a second, but knowing that there is so much there that could only be explored with a Valentine One and a Radar Jamming system. The lateral acceleration of the Viper also beats nearly every car out there, and is near even with a 550 maranello that costs 3x the amount. Go with the Viper. You'll thank me later. And if you really want to delay gratification, go with the e46 m3, and wait for the 2003 viper LM - yum.
