I tried racing one on the freeway with my E36 M3. I was in 4th, going about 75. We both gunned it, and it's safe to say he kicked my ass to Mars. I hit redline in 4th, but he was already 3-4 car lengths ahead and still pulling ahead. I switched to 5th, which is weak, and by that time he quit. So the E46 M3 MIGHT do better, but the Viper is just raw power. The 911 is just overpriced compared to the E46 M3. The E46 can smoke the 911 in any type of race straight or twisty. So forget the 911. I'd personally go for the M3 because it's more of an all around performer, and looks good. The Viper is just RAW power.
