First I want to say that your car looks great.
As far as the new M3 is concerned, I would say that if you have no problem affording it, then definately get it.
I have driven several 328s both e36 and e46, and I would never trade my M3 for even an e46 328. The difference in performance in both cornering and power are substantial on the M cars.
Just my opinion.
