If you're referring to the fact that there are four tips and only two pipes running alongside the bottom of the car, note that this is standard. There is not a single car out there that has a dual tip muffler where each tip is fed by an individual pipe. The dual tips give the muffler a great sound and aid in the speedy expulsion of exhaust fumes from the muffler itself. Note that the M3 is a six cylinder engine, so to have a quad exhaust with four separate pipes would be impossible, as two sets of two cylinders would share headers and pipes, and the remaining two cylinders would get their own exhaust systems. This would create an unbalanced motor.
