M3 e46 (more) (archive)

I am having second thoughts on the M3, just test drove the Boxster S, I know they are 2 different cars one convertible one coupe. But both says performance.
I know the M3 is going to smoke the S in a straight line. But I read that the S has Superb handling, but then the e36 m3? I was wondering if any of you guys considering the same thing I am, from my point of view the Boxster looks much better then the E46 M3.
Which one have better built quality BMW or PORSCHE?
Which one will be less outdated in say 5 or 6 yrs?
So what do you guys think?
