The X5 is an entirely new car, and it is manufactured in the USA. BMW's US productions (like many other US productions, I assume, that's why we like BMWs after all) always had problems, just look at the Z3.

The M3 is a car based on the already proven E46 platform, and it is manufactured in Germany.

Just four arguments that tell me that the M3 will not have the same problems as the X5.
