if you looked at their performance figures: the new M3 is only .1 second faster to 62mph, lending credence to their idea that a 1600lb. cruiser needs a diet.
the article also seemed skeptical of the new car's performance because why else would they mention that bmw will release a lightweight version? it's troubling that they would need a lightweight version to break the 5 second barrier.
