I may be off, but just because the Z8 does 0-60 in 4.X seconds, why is it the M3 cannot? I understand the Z8 is BMWs flagship costing over $100,000, but I do think that in terms of racecar, the M3 is the ultimate example of what BMW can do.

The C5 vette does it in 5.X, and the 911 C2 does it in 4.X, these both are direct competitors of the M3, so you would figure that BMw would want to be in this league, at least I would want to think so. People looking at the Z8 and people looking at the M3 are two different groups, and in all honesty I don't think that just because the M3 is as fast as the Z8, that it's going to steal any of the Z8's thunder. Watching the car on Speedvision the other night, the car is TRUE work of art, and is simply in a total different league than the M3.

I am happy, but reluctant to think these are the final specs, but it does revive a sense of optimism in me, along with the 5 seconds I saw on camera of the E46 M3. Thoughts of "other possible options" have all quickly faded... :)
