In Reply to: All except 0-60:4.7 that's Z8 performance posted by CP on May 22, 2000 at 19:31:06:

according to BMW data the Z8's 0-62 mph is 4.7 s.(Automobile, May 2000 issue), additionally it has 400 bhp (70 more than M3), 369 lb-ft of torque (100 more than M3) and weighs about the same at 3495lb. Granted there are other factors, such as tires, and gearing but track conditions and driver ability should be a wash since the times are both (allegedly) BMW provided. Like I say I hope 4.7 is correct but I'll be skeptical until I see an official source or better yet, test it myself---that I'm looking forward to.

: : : I was browsing around bmwusa.com for fun, and I ran into a section on the M3, by changing the url wherever it said M5 (http://www.bmwusa.com/m/m3/m3.html), however it seems to be offline, and no longer accessible, however I saved the data (obviously), and here's what I found. They could be making this new site available soon, since they've been adding a bunch of stuff lately, and the final options list seems to be circulating already.
