that you just haven't driven (for long periods of time) a BMW. It's not personal, your comments are only lightly thought out and are transparent to a real BMW owner. You are probably the personality type that feels comfortable constructing arguments against friends and relatives (people whom you know won't fight your imaginary statistics (% of daily driving??)) but here you only come across as uninformed. It is people like YOU who are the victims of marketing from American car manufactures. They are still selling people on a 1950's ideology, power and size. They are brilliant! Look at how they continue to sell V8 engines mounted on 20 year old chassis and suspension designs and call them performance? Now I respect power but come on my neighbor growing up down the street had a SS Camaro with a small block which still would beat most any new car. So are you really telling us that acceleration in a straight line is the #1 indicator? Not things like braking, suspension, handling, wheels and tires, 6 front airbags, 4 wheel stability control, flat hp and feather soft throttle response. Drive one and I guarantee you will feel the difference and forgive all the “yuppies” out there for buying a car that gives them their own personal quality of life, not to mention the majority of Europeans (better educated) out there who have come to the same conclusion… BTW – I live in Colorado and believe me canyon carving is alive and well in the Rockies.
