I havent seen that official 3345 lbs figure that Malcolm mentions, but I know the official weight of the 330ci is 3350 lbs. With larger, heavier wheels, more extensive body panels, and presumably larger drivetrain components to handle the increased power output, larger brakes, secondary oil cooler, etc, the car should weigh at least this much, even with some aluminum parts. The last Euro M3 was around 3350-3400 lbs, and the new car, based on that one more than on our last M3, should weigh at least as much even with the lightweight components, as I see it, because it is bigger and more luxurious. The new engine might weigh less than the previous Euro 3.2 (I don't know), but will weigh more than the previous US spec 3.2.
Car companies rarely, if ever, quote laden weight, and the 3153 lbs you quote for the 323ci is the UNladen weight--check the website for proof. I would be (happily) surprised if the weight of the E46 M3 was officially less than 3350 lbs.
At the same time, you can be sure they are working furiously to shave off weight at the last minute. There are 2 reasons I can guess why the weight is one of the only stats not made public. Either they are trying to change it still before the official production, or they dont want to scare anyone, or both. I guess we'll see.
