apparently the body i white is a few hundred pounds heavier on the E46. (the difference may be smaller M3 to M3, i haven't checked the specs.)

this offsets some of the additional power and invariably dulls handling response (all else being equal.)

as far as everything else goes, we'll see once we've had a chance to drive the new one.... hope it's not the disappointment the E46 is relative to the E36.
