: I went to the BMW dealership today to talk about 330ci's and such, and the sales rep said that he could guarantee me delivery of an E46 M3 for March delivery. I had originally thought that the Ms would be completely unattainable for over a year (nine months will still be a long, nail-biting wait, but my current lease, a Honda Accord, will not be up until January and I plan on extending the lease for three months), and I took the man at his word and gave him my $500 deposit.
: Here are the numbers that he threw at me. He whipped out his calculator and used $48,000 as the lease price. He then calculated out a lease of 15,000 m/y, $5000 down and $618 a month using a tentative residual of - get this - 64% at lease end. That's a great residual! My only question to this enlightened board would be whether or not this figure is sky-high.
: Anyway, My name is Chris Troianello, and I am in the Boston area. I am a technical instructor at New Horizons Boston and we have a beautiful yellow E36 M3/4 in our parking lot right next to a startling red NSX-T. I am of course getting the M3 for no other reason than for my own enthusiasm, however I do not mind that the E46 M3 should be able to take both of these automobiles at equal or better footing at the autocross. The dealer is BMW Peabody, and all of my friends have used them and been quite satisfied with the sales aspect, only to be let down by the service. They are now expanding their service area greatly, so I hope that by the time I have my car the service availability problem will be fixed.
: I also have a website dealing with the BMWs that are in the extended "family," and I will post the link even though I was called a "homo" for doing so over on the E46 board when debating the 323ci v. Accord coupe thing. I understand, though. Some people just don't want to hear the truth sometimes. Above is one of the photos from the site - and why I want to drive a BMW - where one of my friends was t-boned by a bronco when taking a left turn (on a green arrow) in his 328is. The bronco was travelling over 50 mph. I believe, were it not for the integrity of the BMW, that my friend would no longer be with us.
: So thanks for reading this far. To say that I am excited about my M3 would be an understatement. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
