: M's burn and absorb a lot of oil in their first 2,500 miles, regardless of what your dealer says, every M does this. I brought mine in with only around 500 miles on it and the oil was way low. They told me I must have a leak somewhere but I consulted Matt at BPG and he told me the above. : After that I made sure to check my oil level every other fill up and after about 2,500 miles it stopped. So you have nothing to worry about, just keep a extra bottle of oil handy.
