the passport 4600 and the bel855 are the previous gen. detectors. i looked into this like a maniac because i'm compulsive about gadgets and there just is no source for a good comparison of the best of each manufacturers these days.

i doubt you can go wrong with the V1, but i was too cheap to pony up $400 for it.

personally, i find the range of the BEL980 to be phenomenally and the escort 7500 to be fantastic, too. (we have both).
