FYI, I stand at #3 and #6 at two different dealerships. I've talked to around 50 dealerships in total before putting down both deposits, mainly those in CA with a few in Oregon and NY. I got these positions last week.

Let me tell you... everyone is confused.

Some estimate getting as many as 4 per month, some figure 4 for the whole year. Some won't take deposits and will charge "market value", others are presetting a premium of $5k or more. Do some legwork and call around to find a place at MSRP, they're far and few between but they do exist. Almost all dealerships have waiting lists that are very deep, that is if they're taking names anymore.

Both dealerships mentioned I would get a car around
Jan/Feb and both have sold roughly the same amount of cars last year. I'm just going with whichever one can provide an allocated slot first.

I will definitely not take either one if I cannot choose my own options, for a $50k car I want it built to *my* specs! However, both dealers have mentioned that once allocation is given and more info is known (ordering guides), options can then be choosen.

Only time will tell.
