The delimma of the V8 path is would BMW give it the same 400HP they put in the M5? If not, then it would be a real shame to have to settle for a detuned engine. If so, who would buy M5's? Don't think it would be size. The E46 is very close to the size of the E39; both are classified as compact cars.
