Ok, there's an automatic mode, but how does it work? Think about what has to happen when the car is inching forward in stop-and-go traffic. Next time you're in that situation (if you live in the Bay Area, you will be), and observe yourself fiddling with the clutch. It's either that, or crash into the car in front of you, or have somebody cut in front of you. Does SMG really do that sort of clutch-feathering? This sounds to me like something that would be very difficult to pull off. F1 cars never have to deal with that situation, which makes an automatically-operated manual transmission much easier to do for them.
