I don't want to add any fuel to the fire, but BMW already has a V8 engine in the X5. It's a 4.4 liter 282hp @ 5400 rpm and 324 lb/ft of torque at 3600 rpm. I think it's partially aluminum made, so how crazy would it be to pop that thing in an M3, tweak it and be done with it?
