No I didn't hate the look the first time I saw it, I loved it - still do. I'm not going to argue the merits of M coupe styling on an M3 board - night and day diffirence in styling.

Don't feel like your wasting dealer's time taking a car around the block. They are there to help and promote their products - and hopefully get you to buy one. M coupes are $42k new, but a '99 used can go for as little as $33k. I don't know if that's nearer to your budget or not - just fyi. Also I know guys on the Mcoupe board have, in the past, let the uninitiated and curious have a spin in their car. If you want to drive one, you might ask on that board if there is someone in your town that would let you stop by and take a look.
