In Reply to: New Corvette Z06-i read 3 different mags posted by this week, they all listed(more) on July 09, 2000 at 21:10:10:

Just like mag times differ (check out Motor Trend's slalom vs Road & Track's) the posted times in Car & Driver, Motor Trend, etc are usually slow. Many C5 Vettes ran the 1/4 in the high 12s, one with a professional driver, bone stock, in perfect conditions ran a 12.55. I predict that you will see some Z06s running in the mid 12s and maybe one or two in the 12.3 range if you follow them closely. A professional driver that isn't afraid to abuse the clutch and driveline on a cool day with a sticky track will do wonders. Most mag times I have seen for the C5 were in the low 13s, like 13.2.

BTW, Its Camaro, NOT Camero.

: different 0 to 60 and 1/4-mile times. The 3 times were: 12.6, 12.7 and 13.0. That shit is gonna be scary fast! All for a price as tested for like $46K!! Man, it's the first time i have ever really considered buying anything else but an M3! I'm not gonna get one(heart bleeds M3), but it is a very good car. Brakes are improved, suspension is supposed to better also. I really can't wait for the M3 to get here, it's killing me. Time is going by fast though, hell, July is almost halfway gone. Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts. It kinda makes me jealous knowing that vette is gonna be so damn fast! What is going to be our best 1/4 time? 13.5? Our doors will be gone :(..........I know, I know, the M3 is still a much better quality and build, but that speed is tempting.
