Oh, and I don't care about numbers. The brakes on the 328 are in my opinion, stupendous. Truly. I can't imagine how good the M3's will be. Hell, honestly, they "felt" (very subjective thing, but dammit let's just say the car appears to be like "ey! You wanna stop fast? Watch this!") better than in an F355 I drove.
Sh*t people, honest truth is, and no none of this stems from BMW-mania or whatever, just the truth (can you handle it? Heheheh). Ok, seriously, what I was trying to say was, the overall experience of a 328i makes me wonder how good the 330i will be (you all know about the new engine, exhaust/engine sound (!) and the bigger brakes).
Truly...I wonder if the M3 will justify an extra $9000...probably...becuz, well, it's made by *M*.
The August issues of Road & Track and European car compare directly the 300 and the 328. Bottom line is premium cars cost premium money, you get what you pay for.
Performance the 328 still out performs in acceleration, mpg, cornering and fit & finish.
The lexus stops faster though even with the couple of extra pounds.
But the lines that moved me about the driving characteristics of the two are as follows:
" while the lexus feels poised and balanced up to about 7/10ths, it is at the limit that the BMW shows its roots. The 328 is so good at the limit that you can't even tell
whats so good about it. Proper driving instincts meet proper chassis design and suddenly birds are singing, flowers are blooming and all four wheels are sliding as one.
The 328 fully committed in a corner is a beautiful thing."
European Car.
What an accolade:)
