unfortunately I don't know the answer. It does appear to be a blind exhaust on one side though. My guess is that it was done for stylistic purposes and it was felt that the added weight would be less significant than the visual impact and continuity within the Motorsport line. Whatever the case, I think it looks great, not lame, functional or not.



Did BMW go with 2 sets of tail-pipes purely for
non-functional, stylistic reasons? It's an inline
6, which means only one set of headers. The pictures
I've seen of the bottom of the car also idicate that
the exhaust piping goes to only one side. That other
set better be functional!! Did they do the same lame
shit on the current M Coupe and MZ.
