Hotcakes? Nice choice of words ... gawd I hate salespeople.
Some dealers are charging MSRP, but most will charge a "Dealer Markup" in addition to MSRP. Also, you might end up getting into a bidding war if you happen upon a dealership with an unclaimed M3 in stock. This happened with an M5 at a local dealership. Finally sold for $97K!
I don't know about dealerships elsewhere in the US, but my local dealerships are putting "Dealer Markup" on E46 convertibles, M5s, X5s ...
Obscene. Is there any sort of movement underway to repeal the dealer-protection laws in this country that force manufacturers to sell through dealerships instead of selling directly to consumers?
