On the M coupe/roadsters, the header is not one piece. The first 3 and the 2nd 3 cylinder each have a header. Each of the muffler handle breathing for 3 cylinders. They are functional not cosmetic.

Did BMW go with 2 sets of tail-pipes purely for
non-functional, stylistic reasons? It's an inline
6, which means only one set of headers. The pictures
I've seen of the bottom of the car also idicate that
the exhaust piping goes to only one side. That other
set better be functional!! Did they do the same lame
shit on the current M Coupe and MZ.
