First of all have you checked to see how thick the rotors are on the 330 compared to the M3. They could easily have the same diameter rotors and one rotor be thicker than the other resulting in better brakes based on just the rotors alone. More material on the rotor results in better heat dissipation resulting in better stopping power. You will notice on the M3 that the diameter of the brakes on the front and rear of car are almost the same, but the fronts are like 28mm thick while the rears are only like 20mm thick. Also the calipers on the M3 will most likely be better than on the 330 and it will most likely come with performance brake pads. There is no way BMW will have its 330 stopping as well as the M3.

Anyone else notice that the front brake rotor diameters for the 330 and the M3 are the same? I've been hunting for the M3's brake diameters for a while now, for winter wheel issues, and i found that the fronts are 12.8" and the rear is 12.9". Then, i decided to check the 330's sizes because of BMW claiming they had to use 17" wheels as standard now, because of it's increased brake sizes. So, i discovered that the front brakes on the 330 are 326mm. I got my trusty calculator out, and discovered that that works out to 12.8"!!! Now, i would think that BMW would improve it's brakes for their premier 3-series, but now it appears that the //M has the same damn part! Anyone with some knowledge on this, please help me out here.
