The C43 based at $49K and with all the price cuts M-B has made lately, you can be sure they'll aim their price right at the M3. Plus a kompressor version of the 320 engine will be much cheaper to produce than a V8 as in the last version.
Keep in mind that the E55 costs less than the M5 and weighs almost 400 lbs less too.
The C320K will have 354 hp and a torque curve as flat as Lubbock, with more torque than the M3's peak from 2000-6000 rpms.
Not only that, it will likely weigh less than the M3, based on preliminary specs on the C-class. AMG did a pretty decent job with the E55, and with aftermarket springs, shocks, and wheels, you could probably get impressive handling out of this car, if it wasnt good enough in stock form.
I guess we'll see...
