The son of a friend in France, who drives an M3 (the son - the father has a nice slow diesel), tells me something like 70% of the new cars there are diesel because of the high petrol costs. Also, I’m sure you realize that even such UK manufactured cars as the Range Rover are much cheaper here than in the UK. Good luck with your efforts to lower the taxes. The heavily socialist politicians in Europe are going to make any progress in this direction very difficult.

Don't forget to boycott the pumps on Tuesday the 1st of August and every Monday there after until the government reduces the taxes on fuel, follow the link for more information.
