If power is a concern, it's ranked in this order:
1. BMW M5, 2. CLK55, 3. BMW M3, 4. The Cab.
You said every day driver. The M5 is every bit of luxury and every bit of sport. It would probably beat every vehicle in this class if you disregard price, and even if you don't. I have one on order as well and think this is the winner. I really like what I've heard about the CLK55 minus the missing manual gear shift. If there were a manual I would probably take it over the M3 E46, disregarding PRICE of course. I'm on the beloved M3 list as well (Unfortunately number 27). Not sure about every day. I also have a 98 E36 M3 and a 97 Honda Accord EX. Some days I just don't feel like feeling the bumps on the Michigan roads therefore in My opinion the current E36 is not every day, depends on geography. I don't like convertibles. So the CAB is last.
M5 vs. CLK55 = M5. M5 0-60=4.7, CLK55=5.something. M5 6 gears, 185Mph top end, 4 drs(if you need them), 400HP, lots of aftermarket.... I'm biased.
I have all four of these on order. But, of course I can only get one. The ones I don't get, I may sell. In any case, the 4 cars are:
-2001 BMW M5
-2001 BMW M3
-2001 CLK55
-2001 CLK430 Cab
I'm not concerned about saving a few bucks (ie, M3 vs M5, etc) and I don't care about practicality. I have two other cars in my garage (one of which is an E36 M3), but this one will be my daily driver. As far as the CLK430 Cab goes, I think it's a beautiful machine, though it may not rank well among the rest of the cars on my list, but I do love the Cab (too bad the CLK55 Cab is not available in the US yet). Yes, I have decided against the E55 for my own reasons. Anyway, I'm very frustrated now as I need to make my decision quickly. Which order would you rank them in? Any help would be much appreciated!
I have also posted this message on MBWorld.org.

Unless of course one of your other cars is a convertible- I would see this question as a no brainer. I would go for the CLK 430 Cab. Of course, If it were me I would get a 330CiC but the 430 is every bit as good of a car and then some, I just like the Bimmer a little better. If not a ragtop, I'd go with the M3.
