It's not a case of predicting the future. While it may be true the 3 series models are enjoying record or above expected sales the new M3 still needs to be on the production run.

I quess with your scenario of the present 3 series cars enjoying record sales, that if it continues...the new M3 might not ever be produced!

Predicting the future? - No, only getting the job done.

BMW sales are enjoying a record breaking year. They received way more orders for 3er's and have canceled normal holiday time. One could argue that they nailed it, rather than missed it. While you are waiting for the M3's, put that money in BMW and Wallenius stock.
