Thanks Bruce, you explained my condition and abilities in perfect detail. I'm a c6-c7 quadraplegic (low quad) and have almost full function of my arms. Most people mistake me for a paraplegic in the amount of independance in have. In turn as a result of my accident I was fortunate to have retained the ability to appreciate the pleasure of driving a BMW (with hand controls of course!).
It goes to show how many naive and ignorant people are out there with comments like that from "Serious" and "Fatta".

No problem. Are you a complete or incomplete? I had a patient once that was a C5/6 and is now walking today (with a walker)...and YES he is considered quadraplegic.

Honestly I don't blame people for having the misconseption (that is why I called it a misconception). The easiest way to tell a quad from a para is to look at the hands.

I bet it would be amazing to see you transfer in and out of a BMW and get your chair into the car. I worked with some SCI patients trying to transfer in and out of cars and trying to get the chair in by themselves and it is not easy. It takes a lot of effort on your part to want the hassle of transferring in and out of a car rather than just getting a van! :-)
