I laugh my arse off. I told everyone I was going to wait until 04 to get my next M3 and everyone flamed and laughed me off of this board. Now it looks as if no one will get one until 01 and then after the engine upgrade it will be AT LEAST '02 before it is "wise" to buy one.

I may get the last laugh after all...hahahaha

If you really believe that then why don't you go over to the E36 M3 board and call all those that bought a '99 M3 stupid. Its the nature of the game, car companies are always working to build a better mouse trap. And what's to say that after you get an '04 model that a substantial change won't occur shortly after? Maybe a redesigned body for '05? I don't see them making a major increase in Hp for the M3 until they upgrade the Z8 and M5 first. And I doubt they will do that in 1 year, i suspect more like 2 or 3. So even for the enthusiast who desires the newest beast, he/she has 3 years to enjoy their '01 M3 before trading.
