Even if a HP increase would come in a year (highly unlikely), it wouldn't matter. You can always come up with a reason why you should wait. In 2004 you will conclude that the car is due for a body change in a year or two and you will put it off then as well.

You probably would have been one of those that would have advised me to not buy a new 99 M3...knowing that a new model was maybe 1-2 years away and the E46 3 series was already out. Well I bought it, drove it, enjoyed it...and now will sell it 2 yrs later for about 3K under what I paid for it. Sure glad I wasn't listening to people like you.

The point is...there's no way anyone buying this car at MSRP is going to get hurt. You can take that to the bank.


I laugh my arse off. I told everyone I was going to wait until 04 to get my next M3 and everyone flamed and laughed me off of this board. Now it looks as if no one will get one until 01 and then after the engine upgrade it will be AT LEAST '02 before it is "wise" to buy one.

I may get the last laugh after all...hahahaha
