Good point on the trade. I probably wouldn't call them stupid since I bought a 99M3. The reason I did was because I assumed it would be at least a few years before the next one came out.

If you really believe that then why don't you go over to the E36 M3 board and call all those that bought a '99 M3 stupid. Its the nature of the game, car companies are always working to build a better mouse trap. And what's to say that after you get an '04 model that a substantial change won't occur shortly after? Maybe a redesigned body for '05? I don't see them making a major increase in Hp for the M3 until they upgrade the Z8 and M5 first. And I doubt they will do that in 1 year, i suspect more like 2 or 3. So even for the enthusiast who desires the newest beast, he/she has 3 years to enjoy their '01 M3 before trading.
