I do not know Bruce from Adam, but I bet he was referring to BMW's lawyers being concerned. It has nothing to do with US law. BMW tends to be very conservative in the US because they have gotten their asses sued off at least once. Just like floating rotors, if the lawyers have any product liability concerns and their is no real performance gain, then why hang your ass out. This is purely a BMW decision, nothing to do with US law. If you really want cross drilled floating rotors in the US, buy then from the dealership and have them installed. That is what I did with my E36 M3. I bought the floating rotors and had them installed. Quite whining and think of a solution.

I have an E39 M5 and when I wear out my rotors at the track, I will put on the Euro rotors. Big fucking deal.

Also, trying to invalidate one point in a persons argument does not invalidate all the others, well maybe in third grade.

First off; cross drilled rotors are utterly pointless. Their only benefit is to look cool to the technically ignorant. They don't aid cooling, and they don't lighten the brakes. Don't bother asking me to explain that. If you truly want to learn, do your own research.

Yes I understand that, but I guess since you can't explain it you don't understand.

Ooh, good one.

Secondly if there is a potential problem with cross-drilled rotors it's insignificantly small. Are you aware that most motorcycles have had cross-drilled disks for the past 10 yeas?

and that has exactly what to do with the price of tea in China?

I see, apparently you can't pick up on the fact that this demonstrates you're litigation fears are ludicrous. My mistake.

Porsche already provides cross-drilled rotors throughout their entire line, here in Canada anyway. Don't you get them in the US? If you don't BMW likely won't be providing them either.

exactly my point, thanks (btw Porsche provides cross drilled rotors on the Boxster S and 911 turbo in the US- ceramic rotors are supposed to be coming soon if not optional already)

Again, you seem unable to grasp that this utterly contradicts you're original statement. Other companies (in this example Porsche) have no problem importing cross drilled rotors, so BMW should likewise be able to introduce them to the US M3.
