Also, fwiw, Porsche, having been seriously burned in litigation, is more afraid of litigation than BMW.

Finall, about the spilled coffee judgment, it was set aside on appeal.
----
But the fact a case so ludicrous to begin with actually made it to court, and further won in court (appeals aside) illustrates something about the litigous nature of American society.
