Hej Lars,

Well, I am sure that's what I heard, but I am of course not sure about the accuracy of this particular information, since it is not official and not affirmative -- this is just what my dealer understood from talking to his wife at Swedish BMW HQ about what's up with the M3.

I am sure our friend Andreas in Switzerland will be able to get further information on this, as I understand he has a signed order and expects delivery around new year.

By the way, are you certain no X5's have been delivered in Sweden yet? I passed one when driving to my dealer just a few hours ago, and my dealer has one standing in his showroom that seems ready to be delivered. Have you ordered one yourself, or are you considering an M3? Myself I just signed an order for the new 530i Touring -01, and will await the upgraded M3 that I still expect in 1-2 years.

Here is what I know about the X5 delivery problem: As of today, give or take a day, NO BMW X5 has been delivered by BMW Sweden. There is demo cars available for week 37 (yes this week) BUT on the other hand BMW Sweden has put out a word that no one is allowed to sell there demo.

On the other hand, there is at least 12 imported X5:s in Sweden already, including the 3.0i version. And from the pricetag I have seen they are a lot cheaper.

The one you passed, well for obvious reasons I don't know anything about it. It could be a demo or an imported X5. The car in the showroom is the offical demo X5 - check if you can buy it - if lucky they might sell it to you...

There is an allocation for 90-95 cars to Sweden this year, or produced this year... From that you will have to remove the 55-65 democars that BMW have, which leavs us with somewhere around 30 customorcars this year (that is production, keep in mind that it's 10 week delivery after produced from US on a ship or soo).

For the record: Yes I HAD an order for a X5 delivery in November this year - but they (BMW Sweden) moved delivery up all the time, last time I checked I had a delivery in July next year. And I had car #85 (excluding demo 3.0i/4.4i) and a written delivery date.... The attitude from BMW Sweden is crap.

Now I will take delivery for a 330xiA (I currently own a 328iA E46), which will have to do until I choose one of two things: a M3 E46 och a X5 E53.

The M3, well I'm not convinced about the modified engine they will put in this car - I would like something better, or to be specific: put a V8 under the hood....

If you would like more info about something, I guess an email is a better way....
